Declaration of conflict materials

The new EU Conflict Minerals Regulation* came into force on January 1, 2021. The US Dodd-Frank Act on “Conflict Minerals” has been legally binding since July 2010. These ordinances relate in particular to the minerals tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold and their derivatives, which are mined in conflict areas such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the adjacent crisis areas. Furthermore, the ordinances aim, among other things, to restrict or prevent the trade in these substances, which originate from these conflict areas, since the mining and trade of these raw materials could possibly finance armed conflicts.

Metallbearbeitung Gerhard Maier Pfaffenhofen hereby declares that we only use and offer materials from well-known and trusted suppliers. In trusting cooperation with our suppliers, we advocate the traceability and transparency of their products.

However, if we should use information about the origin of materials in conflict areas, we will immediately initiate strict countermeasures, demand the immediate exchange of these conflict materials and ultimately terminate the business relationship with this supplier.

The company Metallbearbeitung Gerhard Maier Pfaffenhofen is aware of its social responsibility with regard to the environment, safety, health and human rights and understands that its business conduct has an impact on society and the environment. In order to guarantee a peaceful, fair and sustainable use of our worldwide resources, the company Metallbearbeitung Gerhard Maier Pfaffenhofen guarantees the following:
We do not import any materials from so-called conflict areas and therefore, to the best of our knowledge, we do not use or process any conflict materials, nor do we offer any conflict materials.
